#32 Virgo

I hate celebrating my birthday every year, especially when people flake on me at the last minute. My birthday is on 09/11. I get the same questions every year.

  1. Why are you celebrating your birthday?
  2. So many people lost their lives on that day. OMG!!! How did you feel that day? Were you heart broken?

But these beautiful women made my birthday so special. I got a chance to enjoy a great meal, beautiful fireworks on the water front and great conversation. Next year I’m definitely getting away. I’m always complaining that I don’t have friends. At this point in my life, I’m ok with that. And yes I do have friends, and they care and support my new chapter in my life.

  1. Awesome post! I know how you feel at times about friends bailing out at the last minute. We all experience that but the good thing is you have yourself and sometimes we have to learn to be happy with our own company and just step out there by ourselves. I love going places by myself and having conversations with random people. It’s a chance to connect with others. I’m glad to see that you did have a good time with your friends that took the time out to share your birthday with you. So awesome! Thanks for sharing…

  2. Happy Birthday! And you should celebrate it EVERY year, and shouldn’t be stopped because there was a tragic event that happened that day. There was another event that happened that day and it was God saying this is your birthday, so celebrate! And leave those behind that don’t want to celebrate with you! Glad you had a great time this year!!!

  3. You have the same birthday as my BFF. I am glad you had a good time and enjoyed yourself. What are you supposed to do, not celebrate and be sad every birthday? I think not!!

  4. Happy Belated Birthday! I don’t get why people would ask you why you celebrate your birthday. lol Hell it’s your birthday, don’t they celebrate theirs? You had no control over the events on 9/11, enjoy your day every year!

  5. I’m glad you had a great birthday, I love celebrating mine with friends! 🙂 I can’t believe people would ask you why you celebrate your birthday, it’s because it’s YOUR birthday! Hello!

  6. It’s your birthday and it should be celebrated period. I don’t care what kind of historical events have taken place, good or bad..

It is always a great feeling when your crew shows up for you. Happy belated birthday!

  7. Stay away from people who would dare ask you why would you celebrate your own bday on 9/11. Its your birthday and to be honest America needs to stop acting like its a day of mourning and sadness…I know it was tragic but life has to move on I get sick of people saying “Where were you on 9/11”? Come on its depressing and you shouldnt have to feel this burden of saddness because of it celebrate heavy love!

  8. It is absolutely ridiculous that people would ask why you celebrate your birthday because of a tragic event. If we were to follow that rule of thinking than anyone who had a birthday on pearl harbor day, April 20th – the day of the Columbine massacre would never, or any tragic event could never celebrate a birthday. I’m glad you celebrated your day. You deserve it.

  9. Strange! Why would people ask you those type of questions. You were born on that day before those tragedies ever occurred. You should celebrate because this is the day you were born and the fact that you are alive on more year. Happy Birthday, glad you could celebrate those that want to honor you.

  10. Wow. I cant believe people ask you why you would celebrate your birthday? thats incredibly rude. why should you celebrate? happy belated birthday fellow virgo. xoxo

  11. Yes! Celebrate and enjoy your birthday. If anything people should understand that you would celebrate your life even more! My birthday is on Christmas Eve and I rarely get to really celebrate… I mean.. it is kinda Jesus’ day and stuff, so I get it. Thanks for this post – I will make it a point to celebrate from now on.

  12. Your birthday is your birthday and it deserves to be celebrated. I’m glad you got out and enjoyed your special day.

  13. Happy Belated Birthday! I’m a Virgo too 🙂 And I think you should TOTALLY still celebrate. Yes, many of us think of 9/11 as a sad day, but that’s not your fault and I think you should celebrate every milestone.

  14. We can’t control crazy events in history that happen on our birthdays and every year is worth celebrating. It’s a blessing to be alive and well. Enjoy your day no matter what!

  15. Looks like you had a great time! Also seems you have great friends who love you! Nice that you’ve raised a question of why you are celebrating your birthday, looking at the other side of the coin. Thanks for sharing!

  16. Hello fellow September baby! Bad things happen on EVERY day of the year, and if we all followed the rules of those folks questioning you, we’d never be happy to get a year older! I’m glad that your girls came out to make your day special, and I hope that this year proves to be your best year yet!
